Coconut Salted Caramel

Nothing beats a decadent velvety smooth homemade caramel sauce. This one is super creamy using coconut cream and a delicious sweetness with the coconut sugar. With a pinch of salt flakes, this coconut salted caramel is the perfect accompaniment come dessert time.

Coconut Salted Caramel
 

Servings: 1 large jar (two medium jars)

Ingredients

1 cup Coconut Sugar
1 x 400ml can Coconut Cream
4 tbsp Grass-Fed Butter
2 pinches Salt Flakes

 
 

Method

1.     Add coconut sugar to a small saucepan.

2.     On a low heat, slowly add coconut cream, and continue to stir through until fully melted.

3.     Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes, stir frequently.

4.     Add butter, continue to stir for a further 3-4 minutes or until butter has melted.

5.     Add salt and taste between each pinch to achieve the desired salty taste. Stir through for a further minute, allowing salt to dissolve.

6.     Pour into a jar and store in refrigerator for at least a few hours.

7.     Once thickened enjoy as you please!
