Creamy Chocolate Oat Milk
So, oat milk has hit the supermarket shelves fast and it is super trendy!
BUT
I’m not impressed…
I haven’t found one oat milk on the market yet that doesn’t contain vegetable/seed oils, I avoid these like the plague here’s why.
Fortunately, we CAN make our own and it’s super simple!
And no doubt will be much much cheaper.
Enjoy this creaminess below!
Servings: approx. 700ml
Ingredients
1 cup of Rolled Oats, soaked & drained for at least 20 minutes
2 cups of Water
1 Medjool date, pitted
1 tsp Cacao powder (if you want it to be chocolate flavoured)
Pinch of Cinnamon
Method
1. Process all ingredients until blended.
2. Strain milk through a muslin cloth or nut milk bag.
3. Keep refrigerated for 3 – 4 days.
Hints
Don’t chuck out the excess pulp!
Add it to porridge or overnight oats. Not into chocolate milk?
Ditch the cacao and leave it as plain homemade oat milk.
